As hot as summer can get, even a mile down the road, time filling, transporting and getting around to unloading can really add up. Especially if you're using dark colored brutes. Keep an eye on temps..
I've moved a couple tanks and never changed out the sand bed. A 220, a 180 and a 60 cube. I did make sure to remove as much water as possible to avoid sloshing, and covered it to avoid debris/contamination.
Worst thing that happened to me during a tank move is a few guys were providing labor and didn't understand that the plumbing on a drilled tank is sacred. They managed to break off the threaded bulk head! Pay close attention to protecting your fittings if your tank is drilled.
