We have had Sunny since he was the size of a nickel. Saw him on a sidewalk during a run. Thought he was dead and desiccated. He moved when I touched him so I dropped him into my water bottle and ran home. That was more than a decade ago and he’s a permanent fixture. Picture are his current tank stripped of ornaments, his new 80 gallon (thanks Carlos!)

What are your plans for the paludarium? I have a bunch of experience running and setting them up. If you need any help/advice let me know! Can't say I've ever run one or set one up for a turtle though!

Here is an example concept I am working from. Went out to Hull Gut to collect stones and the assortment was incredible!

Cool. Thanks! I posted a bit more below. May take you up on your offer!

Going to need many more rocks. The turtle will shred any plants it can reach. Going to build a wall and have plants tucked behind the wall so he cannot climb out. The overflow will hide the pump lines and will be a waterfall. Amazing haul of plants at Lowe’s. Really cool ginseng bonsais that will be mounted on driftwood above the waterline.

Went to Marshfield hunting driftwood for a centerpiece and scored. Just need to cure for a week or so.

There are different types. This one came with a container but I just stuck it under the driftwood. It’s just a small pump with some form of atomizer. At first the turtle was on a mission to find it. I am assuming it is because of the noise but he ignores it now

For the most part, the plants are not aquatic so the CO2 comes from us. The atomizer is just for looks. Thx!

Was golfing last weekend at our local club. Something was upside down next to my ball on hole 14 which is surrounded by water. Thought the little guy was dead but was just stunned or really scared. Either way, meet ‘14’ named after ‘11’ from Stranger Things. It has recovered well. Eats blood worms greedily and found it’s new basking light today.

You are like a turtle whisperer! Beautiful setup!
