So I test with this and get 18 ppb. Times it by 3.29 to get ppm? Now do I still divide it by 1000?
18 ppb
59.22 ppm
.05922 when divided by 1000

I’m checking nitrite in a cycling tank

All you need to do is divide the original number by 1000. So 18ppb is 0.018 ppm.

The multiplication by 3.29 is simply for finding the concentration of nitrogen (N) in your nitrites (NO2-).
Ok…so it’s considered not cycled with that number?

api is fine for testing the cycle you said your nitrate was .018 PPM but what about nitrite? nitrite should be 0 if fully cycled what did you use to start your cycle? did you see ammonia 2PPM or higher?

No my nitrite is .018. ‘ Love the reef’ threw in a bottle of …Dr Tim’s stuff. And I believe my ammonia is near 0

do you have any Nitrate yet? nitrite will be 0 when cycled.
