Spring Tank Tour 2005

This promised to be a long day, with 10 stops planned, so we started early, at 9am. Along the way, the group grew and got smaller as people joined and left the tour... I believe we had somewhere between 8 and 15 people at any given time, and between two and five cars in the caravan.

The meeting point and first stop on the tour was Owen's (owen22) house in Arlington, MA.

Owen's tank has some very interesting inhabitants:

Leaving Owen's place, Jackie distributed her "tour pack" -- with detailed directions and some very nice maps -- to the drivers.

We then drove to Sherry's (SherryQ) house in Burlington, MA.

Sherry's favorite fish are puffers but she just couldn't give up on all the other underwater creatures we all love to keep so she has a number of tanks (6? 8?), each dedicated to a specific environment.

Here's a general view of the group mesmerized by her tanks:

Can you guess what's hiding behind these colonies of zoos? Two powerheads! Very clever :) But that shouldn't come as a surprise, as a lot of people commented on Sherry's great taste for aquascaping.

Sherry's "fishy library" (actually, just a small part of her amazing library) :

Freshwater planted tank (I hope I don't get kicked out of the club for posting a freshwater setup :D ... but it's so beautiful I just had to post this!) :

Next stop on the tour was Paula's (Paula) house in Bedford, MA.

After admiring her color-matched-to-the-house tulips ;) and saying "hi" to her loud feathered friend :), we headed to the basement to be surprised by her 150g setup and her seahorse bowfront tank.

tank: 150g Oceanic
sump: 40g
lights: Geisemann 260 (2x 250 DE AB 10K, T5 actinic, moonlight)

equipment: ASM G4 skimmer, PM Dual chamber calcium reactor, PM Kalk reactor (24x7 dosing pump for topoff)

fish: pair of masked swallowtail angels, goldflake angel, pair doliatus rabbits, 2 leopard wrasses, bi-color blenny, lawnmower blenny
