No. Put the sock before the chaeto or risk the chaeto being the sock.

The chaeto is the sock. :D Having filter sock or pad is ideal as the chaeto most likely trap a lot of that debris. Basically, you don’t want to remove the nutrients but food and debris that can block up the chaeto.

You have zoas taking over the main rocks. When you move them, you’ll inevitably break them and release paly toxin into the tank.

Throw out the zoas rock and you’ll be fine to rearrange the rock work. As long as you don’t stir up the sand too much, it should be fine. Also, if that tank is really 24”x21”x20”, consider getting rid of those tangs! I usually don’t like to tang police but this is too much.

You can always request an aluminum vs the ugly painted(and usually rusted) steel tank from Air Gas. The worst they can say is No, they don’t have it. The 5-10lbs tank have a better chance of getting the nice looking one.
