$12.00 Kalk Reactor (Not Mine)

I've actually tried that design with the same container. IME, the design doesn't work well due to the weight of the water and significantly bows the container when it starts to fill. The mason jar reactor had the better design.
For bread, it is awesome:D

Umm, I once built a kalk reactor out of a clear rubbermaid container.

The kalk reacted with the rubbermaid plastic and the plastic became SUPER brittle and started cracking in a day or two. Use caution if you try it at all.

Another RC DIY that I've seen is to use a spare RO prefilter chamber to make a passive (no stir bar or pump) kalk reactor that won't fall apart. :)

Look aournd in the RC DIY forums for this thread...

IMO
If you loose your system trying to run some cheap assed POS like this. You got what you deserved and what you paid for.

There are plenty of reliable DIY devices for dosing Kalk that are only slightly more expensive and loads safer. Anyone with the intelligence to run a reef tank should know better than to believe something like this is not a recipe for disaster.

Oh and that comes from someone that has crashed a system on a DIY stirrer
