Looks like a fish torcher chamber...you know they said nothing about what happened to the fish. They just said the corals survived. I bet they were eating fried fish for dinner the whole time!
Someone linked to it in the slashdot comments. It is thier setup for faster coral growth in a frag tank. Coral grows faster, but is brittle. After current is removed, strength is regained quickly.
