Atlantis Meteor Shower Cyphastrea Placement

I have a frag of Atlantis Meteor Shower Cyphastrea Ocellina and was wondering where is a good place to put it? I have it about 6" under the water surface of a 2X250 MH 14K light with medium flow. However it doesn't seem to be opening that much. On atlantis site they said low to high light. I've had it for a couple of weeks now. TIA

Are these photosynthesis or do you have to feed them? How about the flow?

fyi

I keep mine on the bottom of a 210gal with 3x250 14k's...

mines ready to be fragged

Pretty much the same here. It's on a rock on the sand under a 250 14K phoenix. Our tank is 24" tall.

It's quite happy there - growing well, great colors and extension.

if that is the one from me. He was at the bottom 1/3 of the tank under an overhang so it was slightly shaded with moderate flow. It stayed open all the time as does the piece that stayed attached to the main rock.

Thanks Dawn. So they don't like much light? So is it a photosynthesis coral and do you feed it?
