brownish alage on tip of some of my SPS? (pics)

i don't know what is causing this:

its on some other coral, but its hard to get a pic of,,,,

it looks like the coral had its tips burnt and algea started to grow on the dead skeleton. have you had a alk swing lately? or anyother problem?

you can try to snap it off with bone cutters or Id either put a little superglue to the algea area or leave it alone and try to let the cleanup crew nibble it off. If you cover it with superglue the coral should grow over the glue.
 
Alk swing would be my first guess. The good news is most corals will recover quickly when the Alk is back in line. I've always done best just leaving it alone. Having said that, looks like a birdsnest frag. I've never had any luck reviving them. They don't seem to generate tissue the way other corals due when injured.
