Now the trick to this is add the hot baking soda slow and mix on a open container stirring as you pour so it doesn't clump up .
Ben as he is asian decide to use chopsticks me by being Dominican i would of choose a folk or a spoon [emoji57]

Just my personal preference, I won't use ice-melt for drive way to supplement calcium.
They are not meant to be used for any other purpose other than drive way, the quality is not guaranteed as well as their storage conditions. If you buy it in sealed bucket as Peladow is another story.
They can be contaminated easily due to the way they are packaged, transported and stored.
Calcium chloride is not that expansive, so to save a few bucks and put your thousands $ of coral at risk is totally not worth it.
The basking soda is fine though as it is food grade (I hope that is the type you are using).

So is peladow okay then

The A&H baking soda I use is not food grade which is more purified with no aluminum I think. But big price difference when I checked. Ive been having luck with A&H baking soda though. Knock on wood

A&H food grade baking soda is available at Costco and supermarkets for dirt cheap, what kind of price difference are we looking at ?
Also, food grade baking soda is as pure as it can get.

Yes peladow that comes in sealed 5 gallon bucket are perfectly fine.
When Randy developed the two parts more than 15 years ago, Dowflake was available at homedepot as ice melt. Please keep in mind that Dow flake has many uses and it was then just cheap enough to be used as ice melt.
So please don't equal Dow flake as ice melt, it just happened to be used as such back years ago.
