Collecting NSW

I must say its not quite as pleasant collecting NSW this time of year, walking through the snow and freezing, no fisherman to talk to, but it is February not much longer.

When you collect NSW, do you treat it before introducing it to your tank?

The water I collect is usually, Ca=330 Alk=6.9dKH. I add Ca CL2 for a Calcium boost, and B-Ionic part one for Alk. I heat and mix it overnight and use the next day.

Jim,what about nitrates,phospates or any other undesirables,do you you ever have any algae problems with NSW,thanks,Liam.

0 Phospates as best I can measure, 0 Nitrates also. I had some algae before I changed over to NSW last summer its all gone now.
