I start all new sps on the sand or lower 3rd of my tank. Depending on your lights and what kind of lights the frag or colony grew in, I would watch how it is doing over a week. Then move up or down depending on how it is doing. It's not only lighting but also flow. Most milllis are mid to upper tank depending on the lighting. Results vary since there are so many lighting options.
