Coral beauty shrimp claws came off?

I was moving my tank this weekend to a new apartment and caught my coral beauty shrimp and bagged him but while he was in the bag it looked like his claws came off.
Is this a defense mechanism? Could he be shedding? Or was I just too rough.
There were no cracks or anything they literally just looked like they ejected.

Coral banded shrimp will actually drop an arm or two when frightened so they can escape a predator.
Don't worry, they will grow back over time. It's just from it getting scared.
I'd try and feed it flake or something easier for it to catch and break down for awhile as pellets may be
difficult for it to consume without it having the larger claw to pick things up.
But no worries, coral banded shrimp dropping claws is quite common.

It'll grow back! I've broken many acro crab limbs trying to get it out of the colony because I have to dip the coral before going into the tank. The limb will grow back but it can take as long as 1-6 months.
