Do adult clownfish normally change color as they age? Or is it a function of lighting?

I have noticed my clown has darkened over the years. Almost her entire top half is black now. Not any fancy coloration, just supposed to be a normal percula (or oscellaris?). Got her early 2006, moved tanks in 2012 & 2013 with lighting getting stronger each time. Although it is still lower light for a reef - 2x39w T5HO.

Very nice fish!!! I wonder what they would sell for if they were not so common, a lot of people like the oddities but nothing nicer looking IMO than a nicely colored basic clown like that. As for color change its very common in the fish world some change so much you would not recognize them as the same fish.

Ok, thanks. It was the darkening after 8yrs that had struck me as odd.

I know what you mean about the "plain" clowns Jim. When I added a second, I specifically looked for one that had nice normal bars. Such a sharp look.
