Well I have tried the "overflow into sump and was not happy. Was very hard to control the levels of the water.
I am thinking of also getting rid of my Crushed Coral bed and replace it with sand. I am thinking if I am going to go to the trouble of draining the tanks and the occupants to drill it why not replace the bed also? (to help with look and nitrates)
My questions are:
#1) I have no place to store the fish, corals ect. except buckets or a clean trash can or Rubbermaid bin.
#2) I will pre-wash the sand in 5 gal buckets (I have a ton of them) and it will be ready to go.
**Once it is drilled and the glue has cured I am going to put sand in and refill with 1/2 new salt h20 and 1/2 of my old h20. Once it settles I will plan on putting rock work back in and then corals and then fish.
#3) The main question is that I have a Oceanic 46 gal BOW front tank and I am not sure if you can drill them or not.
Any and all help/words of advise are always welcome and appreciated.
