I might end up doing this...it's preferable to scrapping the tank anyway and seems like it would actually work.

When you talk about 'thick' bulkheads, are you referring to schedule 80 bulkheads, or some other 'thicker' schedule 40 bulkheads that I'm not currently aware of?

Also, it would be impossible to drill from the wet side without removing my overflow...the tank is 24" deep and my drill won't fit.
