during the nitrogen cycle, how long should a diatom bloom last?

recently moved tanks and used new smaller grain bagged live sand and now i have a diatom bloom. Seems i have a new N cycle going. I used the old water, life rock and live rock rubble so I wasn't expecting a new cycle. I have had the diatoms for 7-10 days now and I hate it. I use catalina boxed sea water and distilled for top off. 10 gal tank.

Tough to say how long it'll last.
I'd guess a couple weeks. Do you have a refugium going? That could help eat up nutrients.
