T The Jester2 Non-member Jan 26, 2005 #2 I have used a water base poly. I woulod give it at least 2 coats and sand between each.
N NateHanson Non-member Jan 30, 2005 #3 Don't use spar varnish. It doesn't give a hard finish. Regular polyurethane is fine. Best of all is a Epifanes varnish. It's a little pricey though.
