Found some cool shiny green bubbles?.<faints>

When I started this tank, I found two bubbles and removed immediately. Something caught my eye tonight in a shaded area of rock?about a dozen bubbles of algae.

I?ll be digging in and manually removing each one unless somebody has a better idea? Or pointers?

I just siphon mine out as I'm doing a water change. THat way if I pop them, i just suck up the broken bubble instead of spreading it. I use the siphon tube to break them off the rock.

emerald crabs are supposed to eat the bubble algae

Emerald crabs usually work, unless they are lazy like mine

i have had no luck with emerald crabs in the past, remove manually

Seems the Emerald crab will eat the bubbles but it can also, easily help spread the algae. I guess when they tear into a bubble it releases the spores.

My theory.
The emerald crabs tear the big ones apart and eat the skin, but then they eat the smaller bubbles whole.

It's only a theory
