This morning while the lights were out on the 180, there was enough room light to see in the tank. I noticed from a few feet away a swarm of "something" moving near the front glass. Looked like a swarm of black flies as they were darting up in to the water column about 6". Upon closer look with a magnifier, they are some kind of copepod (armor plated armadillos). Little fast moving, heavily armored copepods. I swear they were attacking a good sized isopod.

These guys move very very fast - no way to get a pic. I looked on Melev's reef and didn't see it there to ID them.

There are no pod eaters in the tank yet. I wonder if I should try to move the yellow canary wrasse to the 180?

Any thoughts on whether these are just a local population of harmless copepods gone wild because no one eats them? Or are they something I have to find a way to eradicate?

TIA
