Goniopora advise

A while back I had a parameter swing which caused my baseball sized goni to start to die off and develop brown jelly. I was able to get my parameters back in check and did a series of hydrogen peroxide dips which stopped the spread. I have now seen growth and I’m wondering what I should do since about 60% of the skeleton remains. Should I just leave it alone or should I cut and frag the living section?

as long as its not growing hair algea it will be good substrate for the goni to grow on. I use old skeletons to help with the development of a structure for lps. Its what happens in nature. Corals grow on dead corals and rock.
