Heater, PH and controller probe placement

Ni Hao!
Currently I have been running the probes for all my equipment in the sump as close to the return outlets as I can. I was wondering where you all run them?

I was just thinking with the mh lights running there could be a significant difference in temp from the display and the sump.

I guess the pH probe could be placed about anyplace, mine is in the sump about midway between the return and the feed. My temp probe is also in the sump in about the same location, if your tank turnover rate is in the ballpark the temperature difference between the sump and tank should be very little. I often check mine with my extra temperature probe.

I monitor my temp in both the display and the sump. Usually it's the same. Most often off by a degree or two at the most.

I monitor my temp in the overflow too. I seems like the most logical place. I have a flow of 150 gph for my 30 gallon tank and a Seio 620 for flow in the tank. Some have said that flow through the sump is too slow but I feel it is just right.
