Help with PAR requirements for corals.

I just used a PAR meter to check the light on my tank. The meter is showing around 400 Pars at the top, around 300 at the middle and around 200 at the sand bed. Is this good or bad? Too much light or not enough? My SPSs don't look happy. They looked good when I introduced them to the tank, but with time became pail. Any take on this?
