High Phosphates

Just tested with Salifert..... it reads .5 How do you get phosphates down? I'm assuming I cut down on the feedings? But what else?

All my other tests came out great.

I looked at the Tetra Marine Flakes I was feeding my fish... 1% phospherus. Compare that to something like Hikari's brine, which is .1% maximum. Huge difference.

If you already have high phosphates, the only way to get them down is with a GFO like Phosban. The phosban reactor and media are pretty cheap - well worth the results you'll see in the long run. Then you can help keep them down by reduced feedings (by not putting so much back in the tank).

Thanks starrfish.... I'm ordering one today. :)
