They call them a cyclone down under....Sorta like a typhoon on the other side of the country..

Hurricanes, cyclones, typhoons, willy-willies, or whatevr you want to call them do occur on occasion in Australia, but what really surprised me was the hurricane in Brazil 2 years ago. Until that storm happened, there was no record of hurricanes in the Atlantic below the equator.
