Is there any easy spectrophotometer method for nitrate?

I have several specs at work....and tons of chemicals..... but if it's going to take a signifigant mixing, weighing, and drying...then forget it.

Um, yes of course.
Hach, makes both portable and lab grade machines and chemicals to test -- the machine is a cool $2600, a box of nitrate reagents are only $30
You don't like adding powder to a little tube and using your eyes to compare a plastic chip? My 10-year old's eyes and color discrimination are better than mine... and I'm putting the $2600 into her 529 plan.

SO...... there is no relatively easy method.

The Hach machine reads a proprietary barcode to obtain its settings.....which prevents anyone from buying their $30 kit and using on another spec.
