kalk reactor or top off?

I think I'm going to start dosing, but don't have a ton of space, nor time. It's going on a 38g.

Is it worth getting a reactor, or should I just add it myself? At the moment, I do not do auto topoff. Don't really have the space for it.

It's really one of those cost vs. labor questions. If you don't mind spending the $ a kalk reactor is great, but it can be done manually easily enough.

IMO/IME manual kalk dripping was way too tedious so I DIY'd a kalk reactor.

If you do set up a kalk reactor, IME, don't run the kalk through a float valve - it will clog up regularly. Use a pump on a float switch or a pump on a timer.
