Moving sand bed

A friend of mine is getting used sand for a fuge. I recommended that he rinse it out and seed it with other sand. Ideally I guess u would rinse with RODI, but that doesnt seem practical. I was thinking other peoples old sand accumulates "gunk" over time and u are better off starting fresh...................

Rinse with salt water if you want some of the bacteria to survive.

Depending on how much I would just wash with tap use prime then final rinse with RODI then seed with either some Established sand from some ones tank or save a few handfuls of the current sand before rinsing and add that in.
