My BTA split!

I was on vacation the last four days and my large (10") BTA split.

I now have two 4-5" BTA and seven 1" BTA. These things are spliting all the time in my tank.

How long before moving these small 1" BTA out of my tank? I dont need/ want 9 BTA.

Cheers,
Jim

I dont know why they are splitting. They have split over the last 3-4 months.

Here are some pics of the small ones:

I would make sure they are not BTS first they look like BTAs.
Heathers BTA splits like that leaving little 1-2" babies everywhere

If they're majano anemones, no THANK YOU :D, I have a few in my tank. I used Joes juice, but not totally get rid of them, they will come back.

When my plain greenish brown BTA split the first time the "baby" was that size...looked almost the same, I would make sure it is a BTA before just wiping it out. But just IMO..:)

Every tulip anemone I have (and I probably have well over 100 of them) has a reddish tip to the end of the tentacles, which that picture appears to lack.

And 'pest' is in the eye of the beholder. I keep them as filter feeders in my refugium.

Our illustrious BRS President sells them: http://www.greghiller.com/corallimorphs.htm

Looks like majano to me. I had some a few months ago and it looked exactly like what you have. They grow pretty fast so get rid of them while its still under control.
