need help to explain MH bulb specs

I am a MH newbie.

I have a 175w Hamilton balast/Pendant/Single ended.

I am looking for a new bulb.

I found bulb at $25 on eBay.

Here is the specs, please help me out if it will work in my setup:

175 Watt 10,000 Kelvin Metal Halide Bulb

(I understand this part)

T15 Bulb Shape



E39 Mogul Base



Runs on an M57 Ballast (Probe Start) ????

Rated at 8000 Hours (yeah right)


initial Lumens 9000 ????

CRI 65 ????

Horizontal Burn Position (????)

e39 mogul is the standard MH screw in.
m57 is a ballast type..probe start..if your hamilton ballast is electronic you dont have to worry about that

Lumens:amount of light put out
CRI color rendering index...kind of how accurately colors are reflected

horizontal burn means the bulb is supposed to be to the side, not pointing up and down



T15..i have no idea.
