New Gold Stripe Maroon

I have had a GSM now for about a year. It is about 3". Yesterday I decided to buy another one about half its size. Once the new clown was in the tank it was chased into the back corner of the tank.
Today the new GSM is out from the corner and when the other one comes up to him he turns sideways and makes his whole body shake. It seem as though there is a lot less aggression today.
The larger one seems to be nudging the smaller one as it shakes.

Whats going on here. Am I going to end up with a dead clown

Watch them carefully, if the aggression isn't too bad and gets better as time progresses then they should pair up. However if the old one continues to be aggressive then you may have to remove the new one.

Usually when people pair maroons they put the new smaller one in a specimen container until the older one stops showing interest (stops being aggressive) then let the new one loose.

Sounds like they have paired up. If they weren't paired, it would most likely be a very obvious fight to the death.

Agreed. It's is a good sign the lil guy is still alive. Just keep a close eye on them
