I have been running a G6 for about a month now and it completely blows away my Aerofoamer 848 Beckett Skimmer! I think you will be very happy with the ASM skimmers....yeah they are not made of 3/4 inch acrylic, but they are still extremely well built and really easy to clean !

dont forget that reefdom is offering asm's and I think its what ray is now using on all his systems.

You'll need someone to look after your tank every couple days anyways. So no big deal to have them empty the collection cup.

The danger, IMO, of having your collection cup drain to a bucket outside the sump, is what happens if your skimmer overfoams, and dumps gallons of water into that bucket, dilluting your system water? If skimmate collection is somewhere in or over the sump, then at least the spillage will go back into the system if the skimmer goes nuts.
