Pumps - Quiet One 4000 or Mag 950?

In my oppinion, yes.

The quietones have a propensity for locking up after power outages. The Mag pumps are horrifically innefficient.

I have a quiet one on my closed loop and the restarts on it are loud as heck. Never locked up yet but just loud clicking until it gets going. It's been a work horse though and hasen't failed me yet

I've been running a QuietOne 3000 for the past 3 years without a hiccup. Very energy efficient, runs cooler than a Mag, and never fails to start. As Nocturnal stated, it does click on startup, but that's never bugged me too much. BTW, I start and stop this pump at least once daily when I feed. Also, I'll sheepishly admit to only cleaning it maybe once a year.

I have used both 3000 and 4000hh with out a problem for thepas 3 years.
Not a single issue...Low heat and low watts.
