Question about sponges

Recently noticed I have a bunch of red sponge show up in different spots around my tank

Should I be worried or is there something to keep it in check?

I have a red sponge in the tank and I assume it spawned or something.

I have I have a ton of purple sponge in my tank. No issues but White Tank is strictly soft Corals

Another shot. I hear there's a red version of this plating sponge which I would love to get my hands on

@Paul B has had issues with disturbing his sponges. I believe he was trying to trim back the purple plating sponge and it released some chemical warfare agent that crashed his SPS.

That said, I have no idea about red sponges

I’ll just have to leave it and trim back when it grows on corals. I have a huge red sponge in the middle that I love just don’t want it to take over

I have purple sponge in my reef tank. Interestingly, my blue linkia starfish loves to eat it and keeps it in check. I often see it an night over a piece of sponge and the next morning that section is discolored. Fortunately it grows back pretty easily.

I have tons of yellow sponge all over my tank. With that being said it only grows in the shaded areas of my reef.
