red hair algea

this stuff is malignant... short, red, adheres with strength. Resists wire brushing
any ideas what might eat it ( already have an algea blenny, so that's not it)
and
what will dissolve it??? taking the powerheads out to clean them is frustrating, ( wire brush futility) would like them to sit in something overnight and then have a go at it,
Ideas?

Can you post a picture of what you mean? It seems there are many different definitions of red hair algae. A link to a picture will do...
