relocating tank Questions.

Ok the wife doesn't want to take care of the tank. She is scared she will kill it and I'll be .

So the best option is going to be downsizing the tank to a 10 gal temp.

this will go in the room that I will be staying in at my inlaws until we find a place to live.

the biggest question I've got is the sand. Do I take it and put it in the new tank or do I just take a little and add some new sand to the new tank and seed with the old.

travel time is going to be 4 hours or so.

Do I bag everything? Or do I put everything in 5 gallon buckets.
I think that I will be able to get everything in the 10 gal. Extremely tight but.......

I've done the relocation of a tank a few times and in my opinion, I think you should replace the sand bed. I have every time and with no ill effects, but I've read of people that kept there sand bed and had problems. Keep a little of your sand to reseed it, but that all.
