Replacement Pump for EuroReef RS-135

Hi all.

I want to replace the Sedra 5000 needlewheel pump that came with my EuroReef RS-135. The pump is unreliable and the needlewheel is destroyed. Has anyone retrofitted a Ehiem or other similar super-reliable pump for this model and can make a recommendation on which to use and how to set it up?

ER sells eheims already set up to go with their skimmers, problem is they charge something like 2x what the pumps cost normally, and they aren't cheap to begin with
