change the member cartridge today (first time - been 2 yrs...eeek) and now it's not producing good water. had it on for like 4 hrs and have 1/2 gallon

Did you get the same rated cartridge and flow restrictor that you had before?

I put the old membrane (lol I called it member) back in to make some much needed water

I noticed that the new one was hard to get out and the old one was easy to get in/out.

they both are exactly the same though...weird

What is the TDS of the water coming through the old membrane vs. the new membrane. From what I understand if the membrane has a hole in it, it will make RO water faster, but it won't be a good quality because water is passing unfiltered through the hole. I understand you can't see the hole with a naked eye. I would think the final test would be a TDS reading. IMHO
