Sand

What sand is everyone using and why? I'm going to be having high flow so I'm looking for a larger grain but not crushed coral

I found Fiji sand to handle the most flow for a substrate that looks like sand you can hammer it with flow and it won't move. Fiji is 1-2mm and random in shape so it holds tight. But I use Caribsea Agramax select .5 -1mm finer than fiji, but not like Oolitic sand that was popular a ways back. Oolitic sand was also known as Southdown or Old Castle.

If you want Wrasses you want to use something they can dive into without getting hurt. Fiji may be a bit rough on them compared to the Agramax or similar sized/shaped sand but it won;t hold like the Fiji

Tropic eden reef flakes for my tanks and love it. Not too small and not too big.

This! Very white and very clean. I used Carib sea seaflor special blend previously. It's very good, but I l like TE better.

I think premium aquatics might be the only people that carry it.
