Sicce PSK-2500 Alternate Pump

I have gone through two Sicce PSK-2500 pumps in four years for my reef octopus skimmer and would like to entertain alternative pumps. I have tried a couple different impellers for this pump along with the mesh mod. However, all impeller options have restart issues with this pump.

I'm not sure about the dimensions but some of the newer Octopus skimmers use the Bubble Blaster pumps. If you're local, I have a spare one you can try on your skimmer.

Bubble blasters work well, usually need a little modification via reducer bushings. Keep in mind that reef octopus uses metric plumbing. The bubble blasters are also much larger.
