anyone know why many videos I see on line recommend GE silicone one to reseal a tank but it says
on the product "not for aquariums"?

Look at the price difference between the two. Anything that’s for a “Aquarium” costs double.

It's usually an indication it has some kind of chemical to prevent mold growth. It will kill stuff in your tank. Look for 100% silicone with no claims on mold resistance, or pay more for the words "aquarium safe".

Think about it, do you want to spend the few extra dollars for the silicone made for tanks or one that is made for windows. There is a lot of force pushing on those seams and I know I didn’t take the chance of waking up to 200g of water on my floor.
