skimmer stopped working

came home and skimmer was not skimming. its a coralife 220. cleaned air line, pump...... and still not working. the pump blasts water out but is not sucking air in. i can blow air in really easy and it works but then stops when i do. any idea of what could be wrong?

I have this problem occasionally.

You know that little vent hole on the top of the return tube?

When mine gets clogged with salt creep, I noticed that the skimmer doesn't make microbubbles (or very few).
Try taking a needle and clearing it out, if it needs it.

You may also need to clean out the other little vent hole that the airline tubing connects to.

thanks i will try that. i cleaned the one on the airline on the intake and that didnt work.

Try raising the pump up a bit, if it's too low in the water it won't work...
