IDK how "nice" of a camera you're willing to buy, but you can get a very impressive point & shoot camera in the $100-$200 range no problem that will take great photos. I'd suggest a Sony Cybershot, or a Canon. Nixon i've heard is decent too.
I have a Sony Cybershot 12MP that I paid $125 and I love it. I just never ever use it anymore since I take all my photos with my Galaxy S3 lol. But I gotta take it out more often. I just don't photograph my tank often anymore because LEDs are a PITA to photograph so I never take the extra initiative to bring my Sony along. Maybe i'll actually do that over the weekend...

Thats my problem i cant decide to spend 200 or spend 700 like you said i love my galaxy and would hate a camera to be packed away to much...

If you do photography regularly, a DSLR is a good choice, or a mini DSLR like a Sony aNex or that one Canon makes.

But realistically, IMO, if you are just a hobbyist who wants the ability to snap a few good shots here and there and don't plan to use the camera monthly or more, then i'd go with a quality P&S camera.
Just get one that has a quality zoom feature that has high-optical zoom. Digital zooming is garbage.

I personally recommend and have used (and hope to buy sometime soon) this one:

18MP, 20x zoom. A bunch of features, top of the line electronics and features, and all high quality parts. I love it.

If you want to go a slightly cheaper route (still a good camera)...

The price is right, and at over 20MP and 26X optical zoom, you can take spectacular shots both basic and macro with ease. And those cameras are sooo easy to use and understand.
