I wouldn't use eggcrate for the riser box for your skimmer. It is now a place for deterious (sp?) to build up. I'd just put a solid piece on top instead of the eggcrate.

good point. I ripped the eggcrate off and now have a solid acrylic piece on it.

Do you know how much water will drain from the display in case of a power outage? Looking at the height of the over baffle it looks like you might be cutting it close if it's a lot. If I remember right in a 75 (that is a 75 right?) it's about 4 gallons per inch.

Just something to check if you haven't already.
