Sump Question for 15Gal

I am thinking about adding a sump/refugium to my 15Gal nano. I am looking for the best way to supply water to the sump. Unfortunately the tank is not drilled so thats not an option. I could use an overflow box but due to the size of the tank, the overflow would take up so much space. Can you just start a siphon down to the sump and return the water with return pump? Do they make a small skimmer box? How hard would it be to make my own small overflow?
