tank painting question

what are the pro's and cons of painting the back glass? does it change the light reflection at all? good or bad? thanks

Painting the back of the tank drops PAR values from the light reflecting off the glass...by a significant amount.

James Fatheree was here and gave a presentation on it.

it doesnt really matter as within the first year the back glass will be totally purple from coraline, unless you plan on scraping it.....with that said i painted mine black, as i feel it adds more depth than the light blue, and the light blue looks awfull fake looking to me, but now you can only see the black at the very top of the tank as the coraline dies off when i do water changes.....
