Temp Question

I got my new light 175 MH and I have noticed that my temp went from about 78-79 degrees up to 82. Should I be concerned about it or is this a normal thing for this type of light?

put a fan over the water so it stays down. That temp will go up as the days get warmer and unless you have AC in that room it will get much warmer in there

make sure you have more top off water too fan on the water will increase evaporation

BTW: it is pretty normal to see an increase in temperature of a few degrees when one adds MH lights.

Since it's not summer yet, start planning now to see what you can do to keep the temp down

Yeah that's a normal rise Rich. It's fine, but you should think ahead now, and get everything you'll need to keep the temp down once it gets hot. Put a couple liter bottles of water in the freezer so you can float them in the tank in an emergency.

You'll be amazed how much difference a fan blowing across the top of the tank will make.
