Float switch is okay, I can raise and lower it--but good idea about cleaning the sensor, I'll dip it in vinegar for a bit and see if that works. Thanks!
It's not the sensor, it's the float switch that monitors the high level 'switch'. If you are getting an audible alarm, that's the problem.
The sensor should turn the high level alarm off and on the controller by lifting the float manually and releasing it. If it does not, the float sensor is bad or needs cleaning.
Mine did same thing when new and it was due to bubbles collecting on optic sensor. I had to extend my baffle higher to protect my 3rd chamber in sump and add extra bubble filter to get it to stop. Now works well. Supposedly if they are new the sensors will also collect the bubbles more readily until the plastic gets exposed for about a week or so. Hope this helps.
