Vermitid Snails

I'm noticing these more and more on my rocks. The amazing things is how quickly they multiplied/spread. I started my tank with 90% base rock with two pieces of cured and matured live rock.

Upon doing some reading on the web, there seems to be a mixed reaction to them. I'm starting to join the camp that they are a nuisance. I found one in the middle of a section of zoos that hasn’t opened fully for close to a week.

Does anyone know if there are any known predators or any way to control them?

If you want to get rid of them that bad you can always get a CBB that will gladly eat them and all your feather dusters.. maby even your aiptasia. (if you have any)

Are these the things that shoot out hair like strands when they feel threatened? Not sure if this is what i've got...

I don't think it has anything to do with them being threatened, Gavin. But based on older threads, I do think this is what you have, yes.

FWIW, my six-line doesn't seem to snack on these at all.

Another way to get rid of them is to reduce their food. from what I've read, like many pests (if you want to call them that), they do well in systems that are well fed.
