Whats the weakest effective light for a refugium?

I have about a 10 gallon refugium between the baffles with about 6 inches of space from the top of the water to where the lights would be.

I have a 4 pin light on top of my it is 13watts anbd has both dayligh and actinic.

I have a full 10 gallon fuge and i have two 20watt NO flourecents on it. Curious thing is I put some rock with xenia on it in there about 2 months ago and its still doing great!

Damn, those things (xenia) grow like weeds anywhere!

You can go as low as you want, it just won't grow as fast. Personally, I'd put a 65w PC fixture or bulb over your 10g fuge. That's worked great for me. Super fast growth.

I used a 20 watt spiral bulb from wallmart (flourex 65k)

No light at all. But all marco alge in my HOB refugiums grow under what ever they can get from the main lights.
